I am a professional Para-Medical Make-Up artist and Skin Camouflage technician, working within NHS hospitals, The Katie Piper Foundation, the Haven, and privately for clients throughout the UK. I help both men and women and children, and have experience with a wide range of skin conditions and camouflage requirements.
Patients find that once they have been shown Camouflage Cream application techniques, and the correct colour choice has been found, the results are that you don’t look, or feel, like you have anything on your skin – leaving you free to live your life with renewed confidence and self-esteem.
Skin Camouflage is a special waterproof cosmetic cream used to conceal a wide range of skin conditions and disorders. Camouflage cream is completely safe to use and can be worn every day. It is easy to apply and because it is waterproof you can shower, swim or play sports and it will not run or smudge. Skin Camouflage lasts up to 12hrs on the face and 2-3 days on the body. Skin Camouflage is suitable for:
- Birthmarks (port wine stains)
- Age spots
- Thread veins
- Stretch marks
- Post-surgical discoloration
- Hyper pigmentation
- Uneven skin tone
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
If this is the first time you have considered Para Medical Make-Up, you will probably have a lot of questions.I’m very happy to discuss your specific needs with you on the phone, but here are some answers to the questions which arise most frequently.
If you have any questions that are not covered here, email email@example.com and I will reply as soon as possible.
- How long does a Skin Camouflage consultation take, and what will you do?
- How long does it take to recreate the look?
- Where can I get the products?
HOW LONG DOES A SKIN CAMOUFLAGE CONSULTATION TAKE AND WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The consultation time will vary depending on which of the following options will help you the most. If you’re unsure, of which option is right for you, I will be happy to discuss the options with you first.
The consultation takes an hour and is the same for men, women and children. I take into account your skin type and the size of the area to be covered. We will discuss the sensitivity and tenderness of your skin and, whether you would like the area to be totally or partially concealed. I will then test a range of products on a small section of your skin to find the best colour and product. You will be consulted at every stage of the process as your opinion on the look and feel of the product will be the one that counts. I am there to advise and guide you – but you will have the final decision on what suits you best.
When the correct colour has been chosen, I will then apply it to half of the affected area and show you how to apply the other half. This gives you much more awareness of how to use the product and I can answer any questions you may have on the application process. The camouflage can either be left on or taken off at the end of the consultation –as you prefer.
A follow-up consultation can be arranged for any further questions which may arise during the next few months of application at home, and/or to obtain a slightly different colour for summer/winter.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECREATE THE LOOK?
This will all depend on your own ability to apply make-up and the amount of time you practice. I can teach you all the skills you need, and show you the techniques in fine detail, but it’s the practise afterwards that determine the results. My aim is to increase your confidence by sharing knowledge and tips with you to help you look and feel better.
WHERE CAN I GET THE PRODUCTS?
Once the correct colour and product is selected, it can be obtained either via prescription (this is entirely at your doctor’s discretion) or purchased online. I will write a letter for you, to take to your doctor, and give you a list of the products used and the manufacturers’ website.
