Be prepared – Medical tattooing treatments take planning
Have you decided to go ahead with medical tattooing and expect it to be a quick fix?
Did you have a date in mind that you want it achieved for an important event such as a wedding, party, holiday etc?
To help you plan, know that often medical tattoo treatments can include 2-4 sessions with intervals of 4-8 weeks. On top of this, practitioners will usually run a couple of different clinic locations, as well as having busy practices so there may be a wait time for an appointment.
It’s worth asking if they can fit you in, as with cancellations and occasionally running longer clinic days you may be lucky, but most of the time, you are better off planning your treatment ahead of time.
Time for a consultation
You will need a consultation and cannot have this on the same day. We need to ensure that you are suitable for treatment, give you all the information to make an informed decision, and prepare for your treatment. If you are concerned because you live abroad or far away, you can ask for an online consultation.

You will require more than one session of medical tattooing, with an interval of 4-10 weeks, at the very least.
Be prepared if you are on medication, have certain medical conditions, or are under 18, you will need to obtain medical consent, which also takes time.
Any more questions
Although questions can be asked during the consultation, you will always be asked at the end if you have any more questions. If you have some written down, now is the time to check your list to make sure you have received all the information you want/need during the consultation. You will also be given time to go away and think. Never feel rushed into booking anything, take your time, and make sure you have the correct treatment, as well as a practitioner that you trust and can relate to.
There are a number of FAQs on my website that will help you with many of your questions, so take a look.
